Close Protection Operatives often called Bodyguards need to deal with high pressure and sometimes dangerous situations, which requires in-depth knowledge and training. The demands of the job dictate that close protection training covers an extremely broad range of skills.

The Private Security Industry Authority (SIA) Act 2001, requires all individuals wishing to work in the private security industry in the UK, to hold an SIA Close Protection Licence.

Our BTEC Level 3 Close Protection Course, (Executive) will give you the first qualification and a step closer to becoming a licenced CPO.

To help you get everything you need for the licence in one go, we have combined our CP Course with the FPOS Level 3 medical training into a 19-day package.  Meaning you attend just one continuous course to achieve the necessary qualifications to apply for your SIA licence, giving you all you need to work in the UK industry (providing you meet the above criteria).

On successful completion of the package, you will receive a:

  • BTEC Level 3 Close Protection Certificate – SIA approved and accredited by Highfield
  • First Person on Scene (FPOS level 3) First Aid Certificate – Aofa accredited
  • Course Report

We want you to succeed, which is why on conclusion of the course, we invite executive security employers to our training centre to offer you advice on employment and give you the opportunity to submit your CV to them, up to date with your newly added professional qualification of Close Protection Operative.

On successful completion of this course, students will receive an Emergency First Aid certificate which is valid for three years. This course meets the requirements specified by the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981.

The course provides students with all the skills and knowledge they need to deal effectively with the challenges they are likely to face as a Close Protection Officer. Combining theory with practical, the course devotes considerable time and attention to real-world scenario exercises to give you the chance to practice the skills and techniques you’ve learnt.  We will also make it fun.

We know you are practical people, so the emphasis is on getting you involved throughout, it will be about teamwork from the start, and you will be straight into the basic practical skills of being a ‘bodyguard’ from day 1.

You will be assessed continuously, during the assignments, through a portfolio of work-based evidence, written and online tests. You will be supported by the training team throughout and together with your hard work and focus you will have everything you need to successfully complete the course.

Our urban facility is a first-class training complex that allows us to train you in CP weapon tactics and deal with real-life scenarios.

To complete the course bringing together all your learning, you will take part in a final ‘live’ exercise.  There will be a genuine VIP who you and your team will be responsible to provide 48 hours protection for, in an executive environment. This is a challenging and fun exercise that combines all your learning, giving you the opportunity to put it all into practice ready for the real world.

We have sourced local, good value accommodation close to our training centre. Options depending on your budget and requirements:

ELCAS – Single rooms, ensuite all to ELCAS required standards. We have several options for employer funding. Please indicate on the booking form if you require ELCAS standard accommodation and we will provide options.

If you decide you wish to use one of these, you will be able to select your preferred option on the booking page and we will do the rest.

This course is aimed at ex-armed forces, door supervisors and security officers, as well as civilians wishing to enter the industry at the highest level.

There is a high demand in the Close Protection industry for both male and female operators.

ELCAS – We are an ELCAS registered centre (details…..) If you wish to utilise your ELCAS or learning credits, please contact the office and we will assist you in the application.

We are a reputable and successful security company that has been operating in the south east of England for over 5 years.  Operationally we provide security personal for various properties and businesses, we have numerous event and red-carpet security details as well as Close Protection teams within the UK.

We only employ instructors and trainers who are at the highest level within the industry. Our CP Instructors are former Military, Police and Government Intelligence services. You will be trained by the industry’s most reputable instructors who have several years of operational experience in Executive Close Protection roles.

  • Aged 18 years or over
  • Have a Literacy/English level to at least a Level 1 standard – this will be determined in the initial assessment
  • Proof of ID and Residency:
    • UK Nationals: Passport + 2 proofs of address (no older than 3 months)
    • Non-UK/EU Nationals: Passport/Home Office Documents. 2 proofs of address (no older than 3 months)
